Vivian Lymburn 96 of Hurdsfield died Sunday June 12, 2011 at the Golden Acres Care Center of Carrington. Funeral services will be held at the Hurdsfield Lutheran Church of Hurdsfield on Thursday June 16 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 15 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey. Burial will be held at the Hansboro Cemetery, Hansboro, North Dakota.
Vivian was born on February 7, 1915 near Hansboro, North Dakota. She was the daughter of John and Olga (Krogen) Geib. Vivian grew up and attended school in Hansboro graduating from Hansboro High School in 1933. Vivian worked at the Olson's General Store in Hansboro as a young woman. She married Hugh Lymburn on September 17, 1940 in Rolla. They lived in Hansboro and many other North Dakota communities where Hugh worked as a grain elevator manager. Hugh died on August 24, 1991. Vivian then moved to Hurdsfield in 1992. Vivian entered the Golden Acres Nursing Home in January of 2011. Vivian enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, reading, arranging flowers and bird watching. Vivian was a seventy-five year member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Vivian is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette (Joe) Dosch of Hurdsfield, Nancy (Donald) Boehmer of Carrington; son, Richard Lymburn of Hurdsfield; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh; sons, Hugh D, John, Robin; brothers, Bruce Geib, Clyde Geib, Lawrence Geib, William Geib.
