Violet K. Tebelius, age 102, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her home.
Violet was born on September 6, 1910 in Kidder County, ND. She was the daughter of the late Hans and Christina (Mauch) Kowitz.
She was united in marriage to Eugene Tebelius in Harvey, ND. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1978.
A lifelong educator, Violet taught at several Wells County rural schools for over 20 years. She also taught first grade at Weiskoph Elementary School for 15 years, later she spent 18 years teaching at Wilson Elementary in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
She was a member of the Kenosha Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Kenosha Teachers Association. She enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles and was able to travel the world.
Violet is survived by her son, Marlyn "Jerry" Tebelius of Kenosha; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Gilbert, Herbert, Al and Ted.
A visitation for Violet will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday July 9 at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey, ND. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
