Violet Reiswig's Obituary
Violet Reiswig, 81, of Bismarck formerly McClusky died Sunday March 20, 2011 at St. Vincents Care Center, Bismarck.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25 at the United Methodist Church, McClusky. Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.
Violet was born on April 9, 1929 in McClusky. She was the daughter of Emanuel and Marie (Nigrin) Schaeffer. Violet grew up and attended school in McClusky graduating in 1948. Violet attended Minot Teachers College and earned her teaching certificate. She taught school at Lincoln Dale Township School north of McClusky for two years. Violet married Lawrence Reiswig on July 24, 1949 in McClusky. Violet worked at the First National Bank in McClusky for a number of years. Violet and Lawrence moved to Bismarck in 1987. Violet was an active member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Church Women's group of McClusky. She was also a member of the Junior Homemakers, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for fifty-six years both of McClusky. She was also an avid bowler in McClusky where she served as league secretary and treasurer for many years. Violet enjoyed collecting Teddy Bears.
Those grateful to share in her life were her husband, Lawrence of Bismarck; two children, Vickie (Archie) Reinhart of Turtle Lake, David (Kathy) Reiswig of Bismarck; 8 grandchildren, Lisa Overlee of Breckenridge, MN, Melanie (Ron) Hanson of Bismarck, Angelique Conklin of Mandan, Denise (Lonnie) O'Toole of Morris, IL, Damien (Torie) Reinhart of Bismarck, Janella Reiswig of Bismarck, Sarah Sedlacek of Chesterfield, Missouri, Angie Sedlacek of Mandan; 9 great-grandchildren, McKenzie and MeiLing Hanson, Taylor and Alaina Conklin, Brennen, Bailee and Evan O'Toole, Harper Gniatkowski, Eden Reinhart; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Lucille Schaeffer of Hazen; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Lynn Vietz of Bismarck; many nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emanuel Jr.; daughter, Sandra Reiswig; grandson, Chad Reinhart.
