Vernia Hausauer, 88 of McClusky died Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Community Memorial  Hospital in Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be held at the McClusky Baptist Church of McClusky on Friday, October 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Vernia was born on November 3, 1935, at home north of Mercer, ND.  She was the daughter of Jacob and Rosie (Strobel) Rust.  Vernia attended a rural school and graduated from Mercer High School in 1954.  She then attended Minot State College and received a degree in elementary education.  Vernia married Donald Hausauer on August 10, 1962, in Mercer.  They lived and farmed west of McClusky.  Vernia taught Kindergarten and grade school in McClusky and Mercer retiring in 2003.  Her hobbies were reading and sewing.  Vernia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mercer.

Vernia is survived by her husband, Donald of McClusky, son, Jason (Wendy) Hausauer of McClusky; two grandchildren, Tanner (Brianne) Hausauer of Bismarck and Jaxston Hausauer and fiancé Karleigh Baker of McClusky.  Vernia was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Rodney Rust.
