Ursula J. Miller, 79, Bismarck formerly of Anamoose died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose on Thursday April 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Burial will be the church cemetery.
Ursula Schiebel was born on April 19, 1930 in Wiesbaden, Germany. She was the daughter of Christian and Anna (Wals)Schiebel. She grew up and attended school in the Bad Schwalbach area in Germany. During WWII and after the war the family faced many hardships. After the war Ursula began working at a restaurant and there is where she met Leo Miller who was stationed there. They married on December 21, 1954 in Wiesbaden, Germany. They lived and farmed south of Anamoose. She was a homemaker, farmwife and raised chickens. She had an egg route from McClusky to Harvey which included many businesses including bakeries. Ursula received her U. S. Citizenship in 1972. Leo died on December 8, 1994. She moved to Harvey in 1995, to Jamestown in 2000 and then to Bismarck in 2004. She was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose and at the Zion Lutheran Church of Bismarck. Ursula enjoyed crocheting, gardening and volunteered in the craft room at the Bismarck Senior Citizens. Ursula is survived by her son, Tom Miller and his fiancé Cathy Gullickson of Mandan; daughter, Susanne Neibauer of Bismarck; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Ewald Schiebel of Wiesbaden, Germany.
