Thomas Houser, 58, of rural Mercer died suddenly of natural causes on Thursday, November 22, 2018 in Hettinger, ND.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 29 at Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky, ND. Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky

Thomas Curtis Houser was born on April 16, 1960 in Bismarck, ND. He was the son of Merle and Donna (Vietz) Houser. He grew up on a farm near McClusky and attended school there. He farmed with his father which eventually led to him becoming a truck driver and ranch hand. He worked at several ranches around the area. His passion for driving resulted in him owning and operating Tom Houser Trucking. Tom had been working as the Feed Plant Manager at the Co-op Elevator of McClusky for the past eleven years.
Tom married Pam Corning on August 4, 2007 in McClusky. They lived near Mercer. Pam died on August 26, 2016.
Tom was especially devoted to his daughter Amanda and her husband Nathan and 20 month old grandson, Braxton. Tom was the middle child in the Houser family of seven siblings and he kept in almost daily contact with all of them and his mother.
Tom's hobbies included riding horse and hunting deer with his brothers. He also enjoyed working cattle with his brother Bob and nephew Carson.
Tom is survived by his daughter Amanda and son-in-law Nathan Strid of Hettinger; grandson Braxton; mother Donna Fibelstad of McClusky; sister, Diane (Scott) Holen of McClusky; brothers, Neal (Berna) Houser of Bismarck, Doug Houser of McClusky, Dean (Patty) Houser of Dell Rapids, SD, Bob (Tana) Houser of McClusky; nieces and nephews; special friend, Ervin Neff.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife Pam, father, Merle Houser, brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Linda Houser; stepfather Dennis Fibelstad; grandparents, Myron and Kate Houser and Louie and Carrie Vietz.
