Obituary

Theodore T. Huber, 88, Harvey, ND died Friday, April 16, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Harvey. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a prayer service Monday at 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Theodore "Ted" Huber was born on July 5, 1921 in Bowbells, ND. He was the son of Jacob B. and Christina (Schmidt) Huber. The Huber family lived in Bowbells, Donnybrook and Manfred before moving to Martin, ND. Ted attended the Martin Public School. As a young man he worked for a farmer near Redwood Falls, MN for three years before returning to farm in the Martin area. Ted and Alice Verna Weltz were united in marriage on April 2, 1944 in Martin. They farmed for three years before moving into Martin in 1947. He ran a service station in Martin for several years. He then began working at the Martin Farmers Elevator in 1951, first as the second man and then as manager for 15 years. He retired in 1981and they moved to Harvey. Ted was a member of the United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendant and held other church offices. He also sang in a men's quartet at the church. His hobbies included raising guinea pigs and rabbits. He also enjoyed fishing. Ted is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice of Harvey; son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Joann Huber of Berthold; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Sherwin Dockter of Dickinson; four grandchildren, Marsha Huber, Shawn Dockter, Brian Huber, Shaina Schaetzel; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Dockter; two sisters, Emmaline Gillig and Verna Salzwedal both of Baxter, MN; one brother, Art Huber of Nipoma, California. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford Huber.
