Ted "Theodore" Heitzmann, 100, of Harvey, ND died Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey.   Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Community Church North Campus on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.  Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.  Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Ted was born on October 1, 1922, near McClusky.  He was the son of Fred and Bertha (Hertzberg) Heitzmann.  Ted grew up and attended school in McClusky and graduated from McClusky High School.  He was then drafted into the Army and served from June 15, 1945 until being honorably discharged on May 5, 1947.  While in the Army Ted married Marion Lang on June 9, 1946 in McClusky.  After being discharged Ted went to autobody school.  Ted then lived in Underwood and went to work for the Garrison Diversion.   Ted and Marion then moved to Harvey where Ted worked for Miller and Dahl Autobody.  He then purchased his own shop and it was called Ted's Body Shop.  He retired in 1988.

Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and music.  Ted attended the Cornerstone Community Church in Harvey.  He was a member of the American Legion of Harvey and the Harvey City Band.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Sandy (James) Weinmann of Harvey, son, Marshall Heitzmann of Valley City; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.  Ted was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marion; son, Jeff Heitzmann, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
