Susan Schwarz, 73, of Harvey, ND died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.  Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran church of Harvey on Wednesday December 19, 2018, at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Susan was born on November 8, 1945 in Rugby, ND.  She was the daughter of John and Evelyn (Voller) Boser.  Susan grew up and attended school in Fessenden and graduated in 1963.  During high school Susan worked at the Fessenden Lumber Yard.  Susan married Charles Schwarz on January 28, 1967 in Fessenden.  They lived in Harvey.  Susan continued to work at the Lumber Yard until September of 1967.  Susan worked with Charlie at the Harvey Bakery for many years.  Susan was known for her beautiful wedding cakes and receive awards for her work with her cakes.  Susan started Dakota Seasonings in 1988 using old family recipes.  Susan traveled over seas with Pride of Dakota Members.  Dakota Seasoning's became Amberland Foods.  Susan sold Amber Land foods in 2011 and retired.

Susan enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, feeding birds, going to auction sales looking for antiques, and sitting on her patio.  Susan was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and of a local Homemakers Club both of Harvey, Susan was a charter member of Pride of Dakota.

Susan is survived by her husband, Charlie of Harvey; son, Robert (JoAnn) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Michele (Nate) Hastings of West Fargo, Janell (Jason) Gange of Karlsruhe, ND; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Roberts, Timmonsville, South Carolina, Sharon Williams, Minot, Toni Weller, West Fargo, Laurie Dokken of Hallock, MN; brothers, Duane Boser, Blaine, MN, Richard Boser, Minot.  Susan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane Boser.
