Obituary

Steven R. Walker

February 14th, 1957 – November 14th, 2023

Steven Ralph Walker, 66, a longtime resident of Harvey, North Dakota passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Steve was born on February 14,1957 to Riley and Grace Walker in Roseau, Minnesota.

Steve was a loving husband, father, sibling, son, and friend. He was an active member of Harvey Assembly of God. He lived life to the fullest dedicating himself to ministry and helping others. He grew up on a farm south of Warroad, MN where he learned good work ethics, milking cows by hand, picking lots of field rocks, farming the land, and doing building projects in his spare time. He was active in the Woodland Mennonite church during his growing up years. He graduated from Warroad High School in 1975 where he enjoyed playing football and was a proud running back for the Warriors. He enjoyed math and always said his math skills played a big part in his success as a builder. Fact – He would have the entire building figured out before you could cut a 2 x 4. Steve built his first pole barn at 14 years old. He attended Shiloh Bible College which is where he met the love of his life and they married on June 16, 1984, in Hamilton, Montana. Family was extremely important to him, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching his kids play sports, the great outdoors, hunting, Johnny Cash, singing gospel music, playing the bass guitar, listening to the Minnesota Twins and Viking games, and making people laugh with his never-ending supply of "witty" jokes and card tricks. Steve will be remembered for his creative mind, his love for the Lord, and the positive impact he had on the lives of those around him.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Tana (Peabody) Walker, children, Tammany and (Jonas) Tonneson (grandchildren Ayden, Vaylen, and Gavryl), Riley Walker, Tashina and (Dallas) Wood, Ridge Walker, siblings, Rose Ann and (Dennis) Strandlund, Carol and (Rick) Fehr, Russel and (Delane) Walker, Hazel and (Wayne) Thomas.

He was preceded in death by father Riley Walker and mother Grace (Story) Walker, sister Linda (Walker) Tanem, and grandchildren Freedom Joy, Vesper Grace, Ever Hart, Jasper Suede, and Juniper Sage.
