Steve Hoffer, 60, of Henderson, Nevada, formerly of McClusky died Saturday October 27, 2018 at a Hospice Care Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky.

Steven Allen Hoffer was born on November 25, 1957 in Bismarck, ND.  He was the son of Wilmer and Virginia (Marson) Hoffer.  They lived and farmed north of McClusky.  Steve was confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church and graduated from McClusky High School in 1976.

Steve married Alison Espen on September 29, 1979 in McClusky.  Together they raised three children.  They farmed and ranched on his grandparent's farm north of McClusky until 1986.  Steve then began his career in construction and mining working in Battle Mountain, NV; Winnemucca, NV; Watford City and finally at Coteau Properties in Beulah.  His best job started in 2014 when he started the role of "Papa" to granddaughter Olivia and the three grandchildren that followed.

Steve's hobbies were hunting, snowmobiling, spending time at the lake and with his family.  Steve had a passion for yard work and always had the nicest yard on the block.  Steve was diagnosed with cancer in November 2016.  Steve passed away on Saturday, October 27 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steve is survived by his wife of 39 years, Alison of Henderson, NV; mother, Virginia Hoffer of McClusky; children; Eric (Amanda) of Beulah, Chris of Bismarck, Megan (Justin) of Henderson, NV; grandchildren; Hunter, Olivia, Kennedy, and Nora, sisters; Cindy Rhone, Julie (Bob) Mackley, Nancy (Brian) Weimer; brother, Russ Hoffer; sister-in-law, Valerie Espen, brother-in-law, Neil Espen; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
