Stella Detwiler 68 of Harvey died Saturday June 11, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Harvey.
Stella was born on October 24, 1942 in Marysville, Alabama. She was the daughter of Northe and Ruby (Norman) Webster. Stella grew up and attended School in Lawton, OK. Stella moved to Huntsville, Alabama. She married Harry Detwiler on December 14, 1966 in Clarksville, TN. They lived in Renton, WA. In 1969 they moved Celelum, Washington and then to Yakima, WA. in 1985. They moved to Harvey in 2002 where she worked at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey in the Laundry Department until 2008. Stella enjoyed ceramics, artwork, and interior design for homes. Stella loved her animals. Stella is survived by her husband, Harry of Harvey; mother, Ruby Webster; son, Douglas of Harvey; daughter, Donna Step of Alabama; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, three sisters. Stella was preceded in death by her father, Northe; granddaughter, Nicole Thomas.
