Shirley Buchmiller, 77, of Harvey died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.
Funeral services will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, rural Manfred on Monday April 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be at the McClusky City Cemetery, McClusky, ND on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
Shirley was born on June 9, 1937 at Turtle Lake, ND. She was the daughter of August and Elsie (Wagner) Walcker. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She began waitressing at the City Café in McClusky and worked there for several years. Shirley and her sister Marjie moved to Harvey in 1962. She cooked at the Harvey Café for many years. Shirley married Wilbert Buchmiller on May 25, 1968 in Washburn, ND. After Wilbert's death on September 4, 1984, she continued to own and operate the Harvey Café until it closed in 1989. She then began working at the Artos Supper Club. She was still working there on a daily basis including the Sunday Buffets up until the time of her sudden death.
Shirley was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, rural Manfred. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading and puzzles. She was happy when she obtained her GED later on in life. Currently Tippy and Chloe were her two pet dogs.
Shirley is survived by her step son, Donald Buchmiller of Rugby; two sisters, Marjie Faul of Harvey, June (Steve) Clemments of Marshfield, Wisconsin; two brothers, Eugene (Michelle) Walcker of Bismarck, ND, Dennis (Geraldine) Walcker of Kingman, Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews, Scott, Laura, Craig, Sherry, Terry, Stacy, Shelly, Katie, and Trevor.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; nephew, Keith Faul; brother-in-law, Fred Faul.
