Sean was born in Devils Lake, ND to Alfred C. and Cynthia G. (Hoiland) Deck on February 12, 1973.  He was the youngest of three boys who grew up on a farm north of Harvey, ND.

Sean graduated from Harvey High School in May 1991 and joined the U.S. Navy following graduation.  During his 23 year career Sean advanced from Avionics Technician Third Class (E-4) to Chief (E-7) receiving his commission to Warrant Officer Two in October 2010.  Sean was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Three in October 2013.  While in the Navy, Sean traveled the world, serving on nine deployments and in countless countries across the globe. During this time he met his wife Kimberly J. Westergard and married her on May 12, 1994 at Oak Harbor, WA.  Sean and Kimberly have two children, Branson age 17 and Cassondra age 13, currently living in Moyock, North Carolina.  Sean enjoyed riding his motorcycle, scuba diving, doing yard work and most of all spending time with his family.

Sean is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kimberly, son Branson and daughter Cassondra all of Moyock, NC, his father Alfred Deck and stepmother Kari Deck of Harvey, ND, his brothers Scott (Darla) Deck of Great Falls, MT and Terry Deck of Paducah, KY; nephew Tristan and niece Taylor Deck of Great Falls, MT; brother-in-law Todd (Amanda) James of Denver, CO nephews Gage, Caleb, Cameron and Jessie of Denver, CO; mother-in-law Susan Hjaltalin of Rifle, CO.

In life loved and honored; in death remembered.  Fair winds and calm seas husband, father, son, brother and shipmate.
