Sam Kirschman 102 of McClusky died Monday September 2, 2013 at the Community Memorial Hospital of Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church of McClusky on Friday September 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of McClusky on Thursday September 5, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at the McClusky City Cemetery of McClusky.

Sam was born on February 2, 1911near McClusky. Sam was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Buchmiller) Kirschemann. He grew up and attended rural school near McClusky. As a young man he worked for area farmers. Sam married Ella Hietzmann on July 1, 1937. They lived and farmed in the McClusky area. They sold the farm in 1977 and moved into McClusky. They lived in the Sheridan Memorial Home in McClusky for a time before moving to the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, reading and farming. Sam was a member of the Assembly of God Church of McClusky.
Sam is survived by his grandsons, Mark Schlittenhart of Baldwin, David (Teresa) Schlittenhart of Hazelton, Steve Schlittenhart of Belle Fourche, SD; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Derek, Ty, Jamie, Cody, Chelsea; sisters, Ruth Smith of South Carolina and Peryl Crawford of California. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ella; daughter, Grace Kirschmann and one infant daughter; brothers, Reuben, Ervin, Jake, Fred, Edwin
