Rosie Ponzer, 77 of Anamoose died Saturday June 11, 2022 at her home near Anamoose.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Anamoose. Prayer services will be held at the church on Friday June 24, at 7:00 p.m.
Rosie was born on October 9, 1944 in Harvey. She was the daughter of William and Katherine (Deck) Oster. Rosie grew up and attended school in Harvey until the 10 th grade. After high school she worked at the Harvey Café. She married Royce Ponzer on March 2, 1962 at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey. They lived in Anamoose for a brief time before moving to Roseburg, OR where they lived for almost two years. From there they moved to Coos Bay, OR for a few years until moving back to the Anamoose area. Eventually making their forever home in Aylmer in 1966. They raised four children, many dogs, thousand of chickens, duck, geese, cows, pigs, turkeys, goats, sheep, some racoons, and one badger. Rosie worked at home raising her children until they were grown. She then started working at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home as a CNA. She also worked as a house cleaner for many places in the Anamoose area. Her final job was at HAV-IT Services as a DSP. Rosie loved working with all the residents.
Her hobbies were word find books, playing cards, games, working in the flower beds when she was able to. Rosie loved flowers, having all her family (as loud as we are) around her, swimming and taking her kids to Antelope Lake for the day. Watching the grouse and finches outside the window a couple hours a day and watching Hallmark movies.
Rosie is survived by her husband, Royce of Anamoose, children, Gary (Lisa) Ponzer of Anamoose, Sheila (Preston) Avery of Gwinner, Shirley (John) Ayers of Gwinner, Don (Lisa) Ponzer of Greeley, CO.; grandchildren, Clayton, Zachary, Austin, Aaron, Kaia, Landon, Benjamin, Garrett, Gunnar, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Tillie Hanks of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, Christine (Bob) Schmaltz of Grand Forks; brother, Paul (Linda) Oster of Bismarck. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Moran, Betty Oster, Barbara Borg; infant brother.
