Rose C. Lesmeister Hoffart, 81, Harvey, ND passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey.
Visitation: Monday, 2 to 7 p.m., Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, Harvey, ND.
Vigil Service: Monday, 7 p.m., Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND
Rose Lesmeister was born March 16, 1930 on a farm northwest of Selz to August and Eva (Vetter) Lesmeister. In 1930 the Lesmeisters moved to Halliday, and in 1944 to a farm north of Selz. In 1953 Rose worked at the Coffee Shop in Harvey. The following year she went to work for Freitag Super Valu. She worked at the Coral Lanes in 1959. And in 1960 went to work at Ralph's Super Valu. Rose was an avid bowler for decades and the recipient of numerous awards and trophies. She was a charter member of the Harvey Eagles Auxiliary and was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Rose married August Hoffart October 15, 1982 in Harvey. They lived in Anamoose. August passed away February 28, 1983. She returned to Harvey several years later, and moved into the Harvey Nursing Home in July 2010.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara A. Keller, Velva; niece, Brenda F. Keller, Park Rapids, MN; nephews, Randy G. Keller, Gilby, ND, and Blane P. (Donna) Keller, Velva; great-niece, Amanda M. Keller, Fargo; great-nephews, Ross A. and Brandon B. Keller, Velva; great-great-nieces, Kassidee Keller, Surrey, McKenzie and Halle Keller, Velva; and great-great-nephew, Derrick Casey, Velva.
Other surivivors include her uncle, Ludwig (Lena) Vetter, Harvey; step-daughter, Joann Mindt, Minot; step-daughter-in-law, Judy Hoffart, Jefferson, WI; step-sons Art (Joann) Hoffart, West Bend, WI, Donald Hoffart, Minot, and Gary (Sharlene) Hoffart, Fargo; 19 step-grandchildren; 32 great-step-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; husband; brother-in-law, Pius Keller; stepson, Arlen Hoffart; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
