She grew up and attended school in Selz. Rose worked for area families babysitting, cleaning houses and at the Selz grocery store. Rose married Edward Peter Keller on July 31, 1944 in Selz. Ed was stationed in the military in Texas and Rose accompanied him there and worked in a factory. They moved to the Wellsburg area in 1946 and operated the Post Office and grocery store there. Rose served as the Wellsburg Postmaster for several years. They moved to a farm south of Wellsburg in 1952. She helped out on the farm and worked in the meat department at Ralph's Super Value in Harvey for over 15 years. She was an Avon representative for several years. She entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in February 2008.

She was also an excellent basketball player on the boy's team and would travel to other towns for games. She worked hard as a young girl and her pay check was taken home to help out the family. She loved her job as Postmaster in Wellsburg. She helped out Edward on the farm milking cows and selling the cream, hauling grain or bails, raising chickens and selling eggs. She also raised a large garden and canned what it produced. Her vegetable soup and fried carrots were simple meals but greatly enjoyed by her family. She was a devoted mother that would include playtime with the children after the chores were done. She loved to play basketball with Ron and Larry in the barn after milking. Rose would place her family's needs ahead of her own. She also loved to dance, play bingo, cards and marbles. Her dog Quincy was special. Rose came from a large family and they would hold frequent reunions in Williston and Bismarck. After entering the nursing home she would look forward to Edward's daily visits. Rose passed away on Tuesday, June 14 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
