Roger Dale Olson, 76, of McClusky, ND passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022, surrounded by his family at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11 at Grace Lutheran Church in McClusky, ND.  Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Roger was born June 15, 1945, in Adrian Township, ND to Lois and Cornelius Olson.  Roger graduated from Montpelier High School in 1963.  He attended Valley City State College, earned his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Mayville State College and his Master of Education degree from the University of North Dakota.

Roger was united in marriage to Adeline (Sund) in 1965.  To this union four children were born: Paul, Dave, Curt, and Becky.  Mr. Olson taught in both Kensal, ND and McClusky, ND.  Thirty-five years were spent as a teacher and principal at McClusky Public School.  Roger was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky serving in various capacities through the years. He was dedicated to the school and the many students he served, in addition, he was a proud member of the McClusky community.  Roger's favorite pastime was watching his kids and grandchildren grow and being a special part of their lives.

Roger is survived by his wife Adeline, to whom he was married 56 years, three sons- Paul (Jodi) of Steele, ND; Dave (Celeste) of Fargo, ND; Curt (Stephanie) of Fergus Falls, MN; and one daughter, Becky (Grant) Goven of Valley City, ND.  Eleven adoring grandchildren will miss him tremendously.  Mattie (Brody), Sydney, Jake Olson; Abby (Blayke), Mara Olson; Daxton Olson; Carly, Greta, Garet, Jack and Henry Goven.  He is also survived by one brother, Donald (Marie) Olson of Montpelier and two brothers-in-law, Marvin (Judy) Sund of Wimbledon, ND, and Vern (Joan) Sund of Cedar Falls, IA; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, his bother Bob, his in-laws, Morris and Martha Sund, and his brother-in-law, LeRoy Sund.

Interment at the McClusky Cemetery will take place in the spring.
