Rodney Lee Tilbury, 62 of Hurdsfield, ND died Sunday June 7, 2026, at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. A celebration of life will be held at Hurdsfield Community Center at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday July 18, 2026.

Rodney was born August 30, 1963, in St. Cloud MN. He was the son of Lowell Elroy and Janice Loy (Bohn) Tilbury. Rodney grew up in Fairmont, MN and attended school there. He worked on road construction with his father for several years before taking up carpentering. Rodney built sets and backgrounds for commercials and other business promotion events in the Twin Cities area. He moved to Hurdsfield in 2010 and worked for Hurdsfield Grain and then as a handyman. He also worked with Tim Wagner Construction in Harvey. In 2025 Rodney was diagnosed with cancer and retired. He enjoyed riding his Harley.

Rodney is survived by a son Joe of Minnesota; two grandchildren; mother, Janice Tilbury of Harvey; sisters, Danette (Mark) Fornshell of Hurdsfield, Vicki Bentz of Moorhead, MN, Tami Whitman of Truman, MN; brothers, Rick (R’Lene) of Hurdsfield, ND, Tim (Steph) of Hoffman, MN, Jason (Angela) of Princeton, MN; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father on December 29, 2016 and brother-in-law Bruce Whitman.
