Robert Volk Jr, 59 of Carrington died Friday, October 25, 2019 near Amidon, ND.  Funeral services will be held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday October 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with prayer services at 7 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Robert was born on May 10, 1960 in Harvey. He was the son of Robert and Gloriann (Arnold) Volk.  Robert grew up and attended school in Harvey graduating from Harvey High School in 1978.  Following graduation he farmed with his uncles in the Harvey area for 10 years. He then moved to Carrington where he worked as a mechanic at an implement dealership. Robert then went to work for Border States Paving for 25 years as a master mechanic.

Robert enjoyed his winters off when he loved spending time with his family.  He always enjoyed Christmas where he would hand out gifts to everyone.  His nieces and nephews were excited to "jump jump" for two dollar bills from him.  He was a hard worker and gave his all in everything he did.  He also enjoyed shopping for a good deal and could fix anything.

Robert is survived by his mother, Gloriann of Harvey; five siblings, Steve, Tim (Linda), Cindy (Dave) Magnus, Douglas (DeAnn), Tom (Heather) all of North Dakota; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
