Robert Mantz 93 of Bismarck formerly of McClusky died Friday August 17, 2012 at the Baptist Nursing Home of Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church of McClusky on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of McClusky on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the McClusky City Cemetery.

Robert was born February 20, 1919, Medicine Lake twp. Turtle Lake ND. He was the son of Frank and Sophie (Gett) Mantz. Robert was united in marriage to Olinda Wagner on July 7, 1938, in McClusky. In 1945, they moved to a farm 15 miles northwest of McClusky. He was a farmer and rancher, raising purebred Herefords. He enjoyed horseback riding, trail rides, and cattle drives. Robert was an active member of the Assembly of God Church of McClusky serving as deacon. Robert married Cleo Mae Chapman on February 13, 2008.
Robert is survived by his wife, Cleo Mae Mantz of Bismarck; daughters Linda (Dean) McILROY, Bismarck, Joyce (Wendell) Nichols, Acworth, Ga., son, Jeff (Rose), Yankton, SD.; 12 grandchildren; 32, great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Katherine Ressalam, College Park, MD, Louise (John) Klaver, Rock Villie North Carolina, Elizabeth (Scott) Hanson, Rolla, ND, David (Margaret) Chapman, Bismarck; 16 step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Olinda in November of 2005 after 67 years of marriage; son, James Mantz; sisters, Emma Erdmann, Theresa Wahl, Regina Helm, Sophie Wilson; brothers, Frank Mantz, Jake Mantz, Reinhold Mantz, Henry Mantz.
