Robert Hatten, 77, of Harvey died Saturday, September 12, 2020 near Fessenden.  A private graveside service was held at the Lakota Cemetery.

Robert Hatten was born on May 13, 1943 in Lakota, North Dakota.  He was the son of Donald and Christine (Ericksrud) Hatten.  Robert grew up and attended school in Lakota.  Robert then attended Wahpeton College for auto mechanics.  Following school Robert began working for BJ Ford in Harvey.  He then went to work for McGuire's Ford in Rugby until retiring in 2012. Robert was once married to Theresa Hatten whom remained friends.

Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, working in his shop, traveling with family and especially riding his motorcycle. Robert had great mechanical ability. He often made or built things himself, including converting his motorcycle to a trike.  Robert is survived by his daughter, Paula Stadtler of St. Louis Park, MN, three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Roger (Judy) Hatten of Devils Lake, ND.  Robert was preceded in death by his parent's; son, Brian.

A memorial ride will be planned in May of 2021 during motorcycle awareness month.
