Richard Grad, 85, of rural Harvey died Friday October 4, 2024 near his home.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery of Selz.  Arrangements are with Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey.

Richard was born on October 2, 1939 in Harvey.  He was the son of Joseph J. and Regina (Volk) Grad.  Richard grew up and attended school northwest of Selz, ND.  Richard began farming with his father.  He married Elizabeth Hager on June 3, 1963 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Anamoose.  They lived and farmed northwest of Selz.  Elizabeth died on April 25, 2020.  Richard was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Selz.  He also served on the Truman Township Board for many years.

Richard is survived by his son, Randy of Harvey; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Gary Vossler of Rugby; two brothers, Victor of Aurora, Colorado and DonLee of Searcy, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth; brother, Larry; nephews, Nathan Grad and James Goodwin; niece, Rose Eckart.
