Renee A. Schatz, 54, McClusky died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 of cancer at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 21 at the McClusky Baptist Church, McClusky. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Renee A. Dockter was born on July 6, 1955 at Turtle Lake, ND. She was the daughter of Jonathan and Verna (Murray) Dockter. She grew up in McClusky and also attended elementary school and high school there. Renee married Donald Schatz on October 18, 1974 in Aberdeen, SD. They lived in McClusky. In 1981 they moved to a farm south of Anamoose and operated a dairy for several years before Donald became ill. They moved to McClusky in 2000. Donald died on April 8, 2007. Renee was a shipping and receiving clerk at Polarware in McClusky. She had worked there for nine years. Renee was a member of the McClusky Baptist Church. Renee enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower garden and her pet dogs.

Renee is survived by two brothers, Kenny (Kathy) of Dawson, Tim of Dawson; two sisters, Christal (Dan) Haugen of Max, Tana (Bob) Houser, McClusky; three step daughters, Patricia (Milton) Albrecht and Sheila (Stanley) Olson all of Turtle Lake, Brenda (Howard) Adao of Mandan; seven step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; sister in law, Shirley (Fred) Gutierrez of San Pablo, CA, brother-in-law, Herbert (Carol) Schatz of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Renee was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
