Raymond Liebelt, 93, Harvey, ND died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.
Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND
Raymond Alfred Liebelt was born on November 24, 1918 on the family farm twelve miles southwest of Harvey. He was the son of Rudolph and Mary (Schimke) Liebelt. He grew up on the farm and attended rural school. He married Laura Stenvold on April 1, 1946 in Sidney, Montana. They farmed near Velva for a short time before moving back to the Harvey area in 1949. They bought a farm in the Wellsburg area and lived there and raised a family. They retired in 1981 and moved into Harvey in 1991.
Raymond's hobbies were fishing and traveling with their motor home. He was a fervent recreational vehicle fan and traded RV's often. He and Laura also enjoyed trips to the casino. Raymond absolutely loved his grandchildren and entertained them with his stories about growing up on the farm and the good old days. His uncle, Sam Liebelt, was a favorite of his and many stories were told of him.
Raymond was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Wells Eagles Aerie # 3080 in Harvey.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Laura of Harvey; two sons, Jim (Jenny) Liebelt of Grand Forks, Rob (Kim) Liebelt of Warroad, MN; daughter, Lori (Kelly) Mason of Fessenden; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eileen (Hadley) Haugen, Fargo, Linda Lamm, Harvey, Verna (Wesley) Martin, Carrington, Ardella (Don) Kensok, Chaffee, ND; two brothers, Marvin (Ethel) Liebelt, Waverly, New York, and LeRoy (Betty) Liebelt, Yuma. Arizona.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ron and Gary; daughter, Cheryl; sisters, Edna Feickert Ebach and Hertha Alexander; brothers, Wilbert, Arnold and Helmuth.
