Raymond Grosz, 81, of Harvey, ND formerly of Anamoose died Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Anamoose, ND with burial following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday May 14 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Raymond Harold Grosz was born on November 25, 1939 in Skogmo located in Sheridan County, ND.  He was the son of Gottlieb and Eva (Uhlich) Grosz.  He grew up on the family farm southwest of Anamoose and attended the Anamoose Public School.  He joined his father and mother in raising cattle and planting crops on the family farm.  He worked on his own equipment and oftentimes made improvements.  He worked for a short time in Minot on road construction.  After his father's death he and his mother managed the farm and later moved into Harvey. He continued to maintain the farmstead cutting the grass and fixing fence until last year.  Raymond was passionate about observing the weather.  He had a sense of humor, enjoyed listening and telling jokes, fishing, and hunting gophers.   He was quiet man but enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Raymond was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church where he was also confirmed.

Raymond is survived by his two aunts, Helen Rieniets of Bismarck; Maxine Uhlich of Minot; nephew Curtis Grosz; niece Brenda Grosz Heitkamp; numerous cousins and friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father on Jan. 12, 1975; mother on Dec. 29, 2011; sister Lorraine Blumhagen on May 25, 2013; brother Clifford on May 8, 2018, and brother-in-law Rudy Blumhagen.
