Raymond Bickler, 75, of Anamoose, ND died Tuesday October 15, 2013 at the St. Alexius Hospital of Bismarck.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Anamoose.
Prayer services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Visitation Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Raymond was born on April 27, 1938 on a farm near Wellsburg, ND to John and Mary Eva (Eisenzimmer) Bichler. He grew up on the family farm. The family later moved to Goodrich and then to the Anamoose area. There he met and married Marcella Gehring on December 18, 1960 in Anamoose. They lived in Anamoose where Raymond worked as a painter and carpenter in the surrounding area. He retired in 2009. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing rock collecting and growing his concord grapes. He made great wine for many years.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Marcella of Anamoose; three sons, Steven of Tucson, AZ, Scott (Barbara) of Brandon, SD, Kelly of Fargo; two daughters, Katherine Ann Crockett of Richey, MT; Jennifer Faul of Davenport, ND; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Henry Bichler of Hillsboro, ND; six sisters, Marie (Keith) Straley of Post Falls, Idaho, Virginia (John) Ripplinger of Harvey, Veronica (Pat) Gores of Minot, Shirlein (Victor) Vetter of Bismarck; Beverly Bichler of San Diego, CA, Debra Bichler of Fargo, ND; numerous nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Larry (Karen) Gehring, Minot, sister-in-law, Linda (Marlin) Hagen of Minot.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Michael Bichler.
