Ray Heil, 84 of Harvey died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey.

Visitation will be Monday, March 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p.m. at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the spring in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Selz, ND.

Raymond Victor Heil was born on July 13, 1932 in Harvey, ND to John and Catherine (Piatz) Heil. He grew up north of Selz and attended country school. Ray married Marie Goldade on September 10, 1951 in Selz and they lived and farmed north of there. To this union were born four children, David, Donovan, Douglas and Daphne. Ray began working at the Eagles Club in Harvey in 1964. He later became club manager, a position he held until 1996, and was also a member and past President of the Wells Eagles Aerie # 3080 in Harvey. Ray was then employed by Green Vision in Harvey before beginning his supervisory position on the Harvey Park Board. Ray was diagnosed with cancer in January 2017 and just recently turned in his keys to the park board.

Ray enjoyed watching his grandkids in their school and extracurricular activities. Pinochle was his favorite card game and he liked playing the lottery.

Ray was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and its Knights of Columbus Council.

Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie of Harvey; sons, David (Dora) of Harvey, Donovan (Audrey) of Fessenden, Douglas (Kim) of Harvey; daughter, Daphne (Grady) Borth of Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Tami, Justin, Kylah, Rylee, Gabrielle, Cambry and Harper; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, McKenzie, Aliyah, Jaxon and Bria; sister, Marie (Herman) Heilman of Wahpeton.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pius and Leo; sisters, Barbara, Rose, Lena and Albina.
