Randy Schmeets, 65, Harvey, ND died Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 26 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Randall Scott Schmeets was born on November 22, 1951 in Harvey, ND. He was the son of Edward and Dorothy (Noss) Schmeets. He grew up and attended school in Harvey. Randy spent a few years working for the Soo Line Railroad. His true calling was carpentry. He began that career with Albrecht Construction in Harvey. He later worked on his own and over the years, worked on many homes and businesses in the area. He also hand crafted many wood items his family will cherish forever. He was semi-retired and currently managed the Graumann Apartments in Harvey. Randy had a soft heart for stray kittens and rescued many over the years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. But, most of all he was a devoted son.

Left to mourn his passing but keep his memory forever in our hearts are his mother, Dorothy of Harvey; sisters, Laurie (Kim) Dietz of Carrington, Judy Kennedy (David Ellingford) of Heimdal; nieces and nephews, Jared (Angie) Ash of Blaine, MN, Stacey Ash of Minneapolis, MN, Tara (Dana) Froemming of Fargo, Tessa (Chad) Weckerly of Hurdsfield and their families; special niece, Tammy (Dan) Matt and family of St. Cloud, MN; brother-in-law, Jerry Ash of Tofte, MN.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Edward and his sister Elaine Ash.
