She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Harvey, ND. On March,20,1993 she married Matthew Bartell with whom she had 2 daughters. NeTasha Katheryn and Amathyst Rose. Rachel was full of adventure and life took her many different places. She had many different jobs in life but most notable would be a water treatment facility in Los Angeles, CA, a small mom and pop restaurant in Wilcox, AZ named G-ma D's, Kotaco in Harvey, ND. The most notable and important to her would be being a homemaker and caretaker for her uncle Victor Thomas in his later years, where she lived on the family farm with him. She enjoyed camping, bonfires, back road drives with good music, riding bike, drawing and coloring. A couple of her fondest memories include becoming a grandmother and overcoming a fear of the ocean by swimming each morning with one of her closest friends Lolita. In doing so they got to swim with the dolphins and Rachel always was fond of dolphins so that made a great experience for her.
Rachel was survived in death by her husband Matthew, daughter NeTasha, granddaughters Olivia and Lilly, nephew Travis, Aunt and uncle Ginny and Bill May.
