Persis Boegler, 88, of Houston, Texas formerly of Harvey and Hurdsfield died Friday July 30, 2010 at a Houston medical center. Funeral services will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Saturday August 7 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hurdsfield, ND.

Persis was born January 15, 1922 south of Hurdsfield, ND to Ben and Mary Lange. She was raised near Hurdsfield. As a young woman, she taught rural school near Hurdsfield. Persis married Melvin Boegler on June 22, 1944 at Hurdsfield. Melvin and Persis moved to Houston, Texas in 1948. They resided there until Melvin's retirement from the Houston Fire Department in 1976 and moved to Hurdsfield in 1978. Melvin died on June 28, 1988. Persis lived in the Hurdsfield and Harvey area until 2008 when she moved to Houston due to health reasons. While living in Harvey she was a member of First Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles all of Harvey. Persis loved playing cards, traveling, shopping, bingo the company of her family. Persis was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Boegler of 44 years, her sisters Betty Peterman and Karen Baier, brother, Merle Lange and great-great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Aguilar. She is survived her three children: Ronnie Boegler of Alvin, Texas, Faye Derbes of Pearland, Texas and Craig Boegler of Georgetown, Texas; seven grandchildren: Ronnie Boegler, Michael Boegler, Scott Boegler, Tamara Boegler, Richard Boegler, Cara Derbes Koza and Jammie Boegler; ten great-grandchildren; Cameron Boegler, Reid Boegler, Hannah Boegler, Zach Boegler, Nolan Boegler, Conner Boegler, Parker Koza, Patrick Koza, Ashley Aguilar and Tara Boegler; sisters, Norma Hirschkorn of Harvey, ND and Marlene Broom of Friendswood, Texas.
