Obituary

Pauline Hoffer 95 of McClusky died Wednesday may 26 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church, McClusky on Tuesday June 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky from 3 p.m. to 7:00 p.m Monday. Burial will be in McClusky City Cemetery, McClusky, ND.
Pauline Hoffer was born December 31, 1914 on the family farm north of McClusky to John and Christine (Krein) Bentz. She grew up there and finished 8th grade. Pauline married Jacob Hoffer Jr. on November 3, 1938 at McClusky. They lived and farmed in Harris Township, Sheridan County. In 1946 they moved to a farm in Lincolndale Township, Sheridan County. They retired from farming in 1976 and moved into McClusky in 1978. Jacob died August 9, 1996. Pauline continued to live in her home until 2000. She then moved to Parkview Housing where she resided until February 2010. She requested to be moved to the Sheridan Memorial Home and resided there until April 29, 2010 when she moved to St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Pauline attended the United Methodist Church of McClusky and was a member of the McClusky Senior Citizens. Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Pauline had many hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, embroidery, quilting, gardening, cooking, fishing, and spending time playing cards with her many friends. Pauline was known for her cheese buttons, kuchens, potato salad, and schlitzkuekla. Pauline will be greatly missed by her daughter, Delila and her husband Tim Schindler of McClusky; two granddaughters, Teri (Tim) Pfaff, Litchfield Park, Arizona, Heidi (Kirby) Steichen of Harvey; grandson, Mike Schindler, McClusky and five great-grandchildren, Suresh, Dalton, and Maria Steichen all of Harvey, Maddux and Jacob Pfaff both of Litchfield, Arizona. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Fred, Rueben, John, Theobald; sisters, Christine Heer and Katie Grosz.
