Paul Murray 47, of Fessenden, ND died Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Trinity Medical Center in Minot, ND.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 at Festival Hall in Fessenden, ND. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday April 26 with a Prayer Service celebrating Paul's life at 7 p.m. at the Festival Hall, and everyone is invited to celebrate and share stories. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden, ND, following the funeral.
Paul Edward Murray was born on September 28, 1971 in St. Paul, MN to Edward and Jennifer (Kaiser) Murray. His father was in the Air Force and the family lived in numerous communities in California and Minnesota. He graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul and attended the Dunwoody Technical College in Minnesota. Paul almost went pro in BMX trick bicycle riding. He worked on mechanical engineering projects and worked with his father in building homes. He specialized in custom intricate wood and metal work, especially trim, and helped design and construct portions of the 8400 Normandale Lake Office Towers in Bloomington. Paul and Kathleen met on E-Harmony, and they were married on January 12, 2013 in Harvey; Paul designed and crafted the engagement and wedding rings. They lived in Fessenden where Paul owned and operated Murray's Contracting and Custom Services, LLP. He was also an EMT for the Fessenden Ambulance Service.
Paul purchased his dad's motorcycle and enjoyed many fun runs and riding. He was an avid hunter and an excellent marksman and loved target and skeet shooting with his family, including his wife, mom and nephews. He also enjoyed fishing and rock collecting. He played bass guitar in "Eddies Current" band. He and Kathleen also enjoyed singing Karaoke, entertaining friends and had just recently updated their equipment. Paul's love of music was inspired by his talented Grandpa William Kaiser. Paul was known for his bon fires and his quality workmanship. Paul and Kathleen also possessed equipment to make campaign and other promotional items. Paul loved God, Family and Country in that order, and he was a loyal friend. Paul and Kathleen both said that they were blessed to have found the love of their life.
Paul became ill earlier this month and was hospitalized. He passed away from complications from pneumonia.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Fessenden; mother and step father, Jennifer and Randy Moon of Minneapolis; two sisters, Emily (Randy) Limas and Ann (Mike) Baur, all of the St. Paul area; grandfather, William Kaiser of St. Paul; and several nieces; nephews; many aunts; uncles and cousins in the Twin Cities area.
Paul was preceded in death by his father Edward.
