Paul Marzolf, 87, Harvey, ND died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Martin Baptist Church, Martin, ND. Friends may sign the register book on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Paul James Marzolf was born on February 13, 1923 on the family farm south of Martin, ND. Paul was the son of Phillip and Maggie (Helfenstein) Marzolf. Paul served in the North Dakota National Guard for three years. Paul and Jean Eckart were united in marriage on November 20, 1949 in Harvey. They lived and farmed south of Martin. They moved into Harvey in 1967. He worked at Al's Electric and later for the City of Harvey. Paul retired in 1985 at the age of 62. He continued to reside in Harvey and pursued his interests in gardening, carpentry and fishing. He was an avid reader. Paul was member of the Martin Baptist Church and served as trustee and Sunday School secretary. Paul is survived by his wife Jean of Harvey; two sons, Randy of Bismarck and Ron of Harvey; several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Phillip Marzolf, Jr. and Roy Marzolf; four sisters, Claudine Reimche, Sophie Kelly, Nettie Martin and an infant sister Esther. Paul passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Blessed be the memory of Paul Marzolf.
