Pamela Kaye Bender, 45, Harvey, ND died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with her family at her bedside at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, ND.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Martin Baptist Church, Martin, ND.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, November 9 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Pamela Kaye Bender was born on March 18, 1973 in Cavalier, ND.  On May 11, 1973 she was adopted by Royce and Cleo (Eckart) Bender.  She grew up on the family farm east of Martin.  It was there where she especially enjoyed her horses and other farm animals.  Pam accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Martin Baptist Church, where she became a member.  Pam attended the BM Hanson Elementary School in Harvey.  Pam was diagnosed with leukodystrophy at the age of 15 at the Mayo Clinic.   She enjoyed band and choir and being the Hornet mascot for a time.  Pam graduated from the Harvey High School in 1991.

She attended the Interstate Business College in Bismarck and worked at K Mart and at a restaurant while living in the Bismarck and Mandan area.

Pam was once married to Mike Erickson and they lived in both the Bismarck – Mandan and Sioux Falls, SD.  Pam attended the Trinity Church in Sioux Falls.  The church helped her greatly as her health deteriorated.  Because of a stroke, Pam moved back to Harvey in November 2008 where she has lived in the St. Aloisius Nursing Home until the time of her death.

Pam is survived by her daughters, Kayellynn Bender of Harvey, Brianna Smoot of Sioux Falls; son, Michael Erickson of Sioux Falls; mother, Cleo Bender of Harvey; brother, Bradley and his wife Becky Bender of Kelowna, British Columbia.

Pam was preceded in death by her father Royce; grandparents, Edwin and Martha Bender, and Helmuth and Mary Eckart.
