Orine Waldoch's Obituary
Orine Waldoch, 88, Harvey, ND died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Bethany Retirement Living center in Fargo. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with prayer services on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Orine was born on Feb. 23, 1924 at Sharon, ND. She was the daughter of Hans and Esther (Brekke) Midstokke. Orine graduated from the Minot High School in 1942. She moved to Los Angeles, CA and worked at the Fifth Street store and at a Lockheed defense plant. She used her roller skating ability to "skate" blueprints from one section of the Lockheed plant to another. She later moved to Harvey where she met Bernie Waldoch. They were married on April 19, 1947 at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey. Orine was a diligent mother who raised her five children with love and humor. She was very creative and had many talents. She worked at the J C Penney Store in Harvey as a window dresser, arranged flowers at Bergs Variety Store, was a sales clerk at Cleo's Shoe Store and at the Gold Bond Redemption Center all in Harvey. She also helped manage the Artos Supper Club with her husband Bernie.
Orine enjoyed a long life surrounded by many dear friends of whom she enjoyed entertaining at her home. She loved to laugh, visit and dance to any kind of music. She was notorious for her one liners and quotes. They were creative and inspiring. One of her most inspiring quotes was, "Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes; I murmured because I had no shoes until I saw a man who had no feet."
Orine is survived by two sons, Daniel (Lisa) Waldoch of Bismarck, Michael and Susan Waldoch of Harvey; three daughters, Shauna Faul of Harvey, Paula (Suzanne Delahanty) Waldoch of Palm Springs, CA, Lisa (Jerald) Weckerly of Hurdsfield; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Orine was preceded in death by her husband Bernie on March 21, 1987; father, Hans Midstokke; mother, Esther Pokes; step fathers, Henry Berg and Matt Pockes.
Orine will be missed by her family and friends as well as her loving caretakers at Bethany Homes. Enjoy your "Sentimental Journey" Orine.
