Olive Faber, 89, of Bottineau formerly of Harvey, ND died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Mountrail Bethel Home in Stanley where she had moved to recently.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at the United Parish in Bottineau.
Graveside Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Congregational Cemetery, Anamoose, ND.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 25 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Olive was born on January 16, 1927 near Anamoose, ND. She was the daughter of August and Magdelena (Kaul) Hoepfer. She attended the White Township School and graduated from Anamoose High School in 1945. Olive married Orville Faber on September 7, 1947 in Anamoose. They lived in several North Dakota communities where Olive was a homemaker and Orville was a teacher or a superintendent or principal. They moved to Harvey in 1977. Orville died on January 28, 2006. Olive continued to reside in Harvey until moving to Bottineau in August 2008. She moved to Stanley in November 2015.
Olive attended the United Parish while living in Bottineau and was a former member of the United Methodist Church and Senior Citizens both in Harvey. She kept active quilting, crocheting and baking. Her outdoor activities included tending to her flowers, fishing and walking. More recently Olive enjoyed having coffee with her new friends in Bottineau and Stanley.
Olive is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Berube of Lake Metigoshe; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jay Faber of Harvey, Neil and Laurie Faber of Stanley; three grandchildren, Kristen (Kevin) Allard, Eryn Faber and Ryan Faber; two great-grandchildren, Kooper Allard and Kynzie Allard.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; five brothers, Edward, John, Irvin, Herbert, and Donald; four sisters, Arlene Schmaltz, Pauline Roll, Martha Greenwood and Elsie Hayes.
