Norman Rath, 87 of Harvey, ND died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.

Funeral services: Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church, Harvey on Monday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation: Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Burial will be held at the Ebenezer Congregational Cemetery, Anamoose.

Norman was born on February 17, 1931 near Anamoose.  He was the son of Benjamin and Mathilda (Ammon) Rath.  He grew up and attended school near Anamoose.  Norman farmed and ranched many years in Sheridan County south of Anamoose.  He worked on the Panko farm south of Drake before moving to the Hildenbrandt farm east of Highway 14 six miles south of Anamoose.  Norman moved to Harvey in 2003.   Norman enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, working in his yard. He entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in October 2017.

Norman is survived by niece, Marlene (Myron) Thon of Harvey; nephews, Kenneth and Gerald Rath of Anamoose.  Norman was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ella Rath, sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Calvin Rath.
