Nick Raugust, 40, of rural Harvey, ND died Saturday, February 27, 2021 with his family at his side at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 7 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and was followed by a prayer service on Sunday March 7 at Faith Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Coal Mine Lake.

Nicholas Scott Raugust was born on August 27, 1980 in Bismarck, ND to Hugh and Diana (Lamm) Raugust.  He grew up on the family farm and ranch southwest of Harvey.  Nick attended the Goodrich Public School until the 7 ^th grade, then transferred to Harvey Public School and excelled in football, basketball, track and also played Babe Ruth and American Legion Baseball in the summer months.  He graduated from Harvey High School in 1999.  Nick received many sporting awards including being named All State in football having been a wide receiver on the Class A Harvey High School Football State Championship team in 1998; played in the MON-DAK and Shriners football games; was a State Champion in the 300 Hurdles and 110 High Hurdles; and received the 1998-1999 ND Associated Press Senior Male Athlete of the year award. Nick played softball after high school and enjoyed playing with his father and brother on the Harvey Merchants softball team.

After graduating, Nick lived in Bismarck where he worked for the Park and Rec Board at Tom O'Leary Golf Course and at Lowes.  He was passionate about working as a groundskeeper specializing in taking care of the greens.  He also worked in Jamestown for a time where he worked in grounds maintenance for Jamestown Public Schools and coached the Junior High football team.

Even though Nick never had any of his own children, he loved kids, loved his pets and all the farm animals.  He had a very soft heart and also loved the outdoors.  The land surrounding the farm provided year round activities including hunting, ranching and other recreational activities.  He could often be found at nearby Coal Mine Lake skipping or hitting rocks with a bat or just reflecting. Nick also enjoyed drawing and playing golf.  He could tell you anything about past and present sports and players.  He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and felt they were going to win the Superbowl with Tom Brady as quarterback.

Nick was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Wells Eagles Aerie in Harvey.

Nick is survived by his parents Hugh and Diana of Harvey; brother and sister-in-law Cody and Kiri Raugust of Harvey; uncles and aunts, Barry and Diana Raugust of Wichita, KS; Kim and Diane Raugust of Goodrich; Sharee Nelson of Bismarck; Jill and Ken Martin of Moorhead; Julie (Jeff) Rauser of Mesa, AZ and Connie (Gene) Gasmann of Minot; numerous cousins; very special friends and his dog Jack.
