Myrna Fike, 76, Harvey, ND died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Myrna was born on March 25, 1941 at Drake, ND. She was the daughter of Art and Emily (Hoaglund) Johnson. The family lived in several North Dakota towns including Drake and Chaseley while she was growing up. She graduated from Bowdon High School in 1959.
Myrna married Larry Fike on September 19, 1959 in Chaseley, ND. They lived in Chaseley and Jamestown before moving to Harvey in 1964. Myrna drove milk truck for a short time. She later was a sales clerk at the Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penney stores in Harvey in addition to being a homemaker. She was also the bookkeeper and product inspector for her husband's sand and gravel operation, Fike Crushing, Inc. The company's primary location was in Sidney, MT. In 1999 she started to scale back on her Fike Crushing duties.
Myrna was a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Harvey. She was active in the church's Bible study and work groups. She also served on the Harvey Ambulance Service. She was a current member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Myrna and Larry spent many winters in Bullhead City and Yuma. She continued her Bible study, and other hobbies including reading, playing cards and walking for exercise.
Myrna is survived by her husband, Larry; sons, Rick (Leslie) Fike of Sidney, MT; Joel Fike of Harvey, Doug (Kristi) Fike of Harvey; daughter, Kathy (Jim) Nicholson of Sidney, MT; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Jan) Johnson of Fargo, Dean (Lynda) Johnson of Harvey; sister-in-law, Lois Johnson of Forman, ND.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger; grandson, Jordan.
