Mina Kopseng, 97, formerly of Harvey, ND, passed away May 23rd, 2015 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck, ND.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27th at Hertz Funeral Home in Harvey.
A family service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27th at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church in Harvey.
Burial will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Harvey.
Mina Helena was born May 18, 1918 on the family farm North East of Goodrich to John and Helena (Arens) Fallon. Mina graduated from Harvey High School in 1935 and Christie's Beauty School of Bismarck in 1936.
Mina was briefly married to Alvin Meckler who perished in a boating accident. She then married Benjamin Kopseng on April 25, 1946 in Fessenden. Ben and Mina made their home in Harvey and were blessed with the birth of their daughters; Johnell, Jennifer and Kathleen.
Mina enjoyed her years of working as a waitress at the Harvey Café, and women's clothing stores which included Mildreds & Barkers. Many will also remember her managing the "Snack Bar" at the Hi-Way 52 Drive-In Theater.
Mina was a member of Trinity Bethany and First Lutheran Churches. She took part in many activities including being involved in Ladies Aide, Sewing Club, Bridge Club, as well as being an active member of the Eagles Auxiliary for 56 years. Her favorite things to do were spending time with her family and friends, going to church, playing cards, dancing, baking and never missing an opportunity to go shopping.
Mina is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Craig) Thurow and Kathleen (Blair) Mitzel of Bismarck.
Her grandchildren, Scott (Kara) Hagel, Fargo; Jackie Hagel, MS; Patrick (Adrianna) Hagel, NY; Cassie Hagel (fiancé Kevin Turner) Texas; Christopher (Shelley) Thurow, Carrington; Jordan (fiancé Lindsey Jenkins) CA; Jenna (Joe) Juntunen, Hazen; Matthew (Melissa) Mitzel, Bismarck; Tyler (Alicia) Mitzel, Bismarck and Andrew Mitzel, Fargo; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Miles Turner; Taylor and Max Juntunen; Isaak and Everly Mitzel; Brayden Mitzel and her son-in-law, Larry Hagel, Spokane, WA.
Mina was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Alvin Meckler, Ben Kopseng, daughter, Johnell Hagel, brothers; Alvah (Ruth) and Leo (Erna) Fallon, sisters; Catherine (Art) Rudel and Patricia (Norbert) Mikula, brother-in-law, Ted (Louise) Kopseng, Clarence (Olive) Kopseng, and sister-in-law, Gudrun (Martin) Bjorke.
Mina will be truly missed by many.
