Mildred Seltvedt 99 of Harvey died Saturday November 17 at the Elim Care Center in Fargo.
Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church of Harvey on Saturday November 24 at 2:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery of Harvey.
Mildred was born on May 4, 1913 near Wellsburg, ND. She was the daughter of Alfred and Gusta (Nelson) Hendrickson. Mildred grew up and attended grade school in Wellsburg. She graduated from Harvey High School in 1930. She then attended Minot Teachers College and taught at rural schools in the Harvey area. Mildred married Ole Seltvedt on June 5, 1935 near Wellsburg. They lived in various communities in North Dakota until moving to Harvey in 1946. Ole passed away on February 16, 1996. She continued to live in Harvey until moving to Fargo in 2000. Mildred was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Harvey and was very active with the First Lutheran Church woman's group. Mildred was a former member of the Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church of Harvey. Mildred was a member of the Sorosis Study Club. She enjoyed observing nature, reading, writing poetry and painting.
Mildred is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Tamera of Harvey, Mike and Jean of Fargo; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and John Lervick of Alexandria, MN; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one great-grandchild; brothers, Roy as an infant, Gordon, Vern, James, Roy, Roland; sisters, Lorraine Stoltz and Ella Mae Francis.
Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church of Harvey or the American Cancer Society.
