Michael Schneider, 90 of Harvey died Monday June 13 at the St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Selz on Friday June 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Prayer services will be held at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Michael was born on January 24, 1921 near Selz, ND. He was the son of Andrew and Katherine (Gesinger) Schneider. He grew up and attended rural school near Selz. He entered the army on October 8, 1942 and served as a military policeman. Michael was awarded the American Service Medal, European, African and Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 27, 1946 and returned to the Selz area. Michael married Barbara Vetter on October 15, 1946 in Selz. They lived in Harvey for a year and he worked for Keller's Drayline. They purchased a farm north of Selz in 1947. He was a diversified farmer and they continued to live on the farm until moving to Harvey 2002. Barbara passed away June 19, 2002.

Michael was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters in Selz. He was a member of the Wells Eagles Aerie and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Harvey. Michael's hobbies included fishing, dancing, playing pinochle and Bingo.

Michael is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Bob) Leintz, Harvey, Bonnie (Mark) Simmons, West Fargo, ND; three sons, Ron (Karen) Schneider, Rugby, Brian (fiancé, Mary Beth Gross) Schneider, Napoleon, ND, Curtis (Gail) Schneider, Bismarck, ND; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ambrose Schneider of Harvey and Edward Schneider of Las Vegas, NV.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter-in-law, Lorie, Mrs. Brian Schneider; brothers, Tony, Casper and Pius.
