Marlyn Roth, 79, of McClusky, died Monday, March 30, 2020 at St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck.  Private services will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home in McClusky with burial following in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Marlyn was born on April 11, 1940 in Minot, ND. She was the daughter of William and Marie (Ebel) Arndt. She grew up north of McClusky and graduated from high school there.  She attended beauty college in Bismarck and opened Marlyn's Beauty Salon in McClusky after she was licensed.  Marlyn married Roger Roth, whom she met in high school, on September 21, 1962 in McClusky.  They lived in McClusky.  They moved to Minot in 1968.  She stayed at home with their two daughters until they were school age.  She then worked at North Hill School in Minot from 1975 until moving to Bottineau in 1981.  While living in Bottineau she worked in the Activities Department at the Good Samaritan Center. They loved watching their daughters participate in school activities including sports.  They retired in 1999 and moved to their home on Brush Lake where they lived or visited for 36 years.  They hosted Memorial Day, 4 ^th of July and Labor Day parties there for most of those years.  They spent winters in Texas from 2000 to 2007 and in Arizona from 2008 to 2015. They moved into McClusky in 2006 and she entered St. Vincent's in Bismarck in August 2019.

Her hobbies included ceramics, knitting, embroidery, crocheting and cooking.  Every summer she and her sisters went on trips for years.  Marlyn and Roger loved traveling, cruising, boating, motorcycling and camping in their motorhome.

Marlyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in McClusky.

Marlyn is survived by her husband Roger; two daughters, Valerie (Troy) Pank of Makoti, Melissa (Mark) Monson of Hutto, TX;  two grandsons, Dylan Pank and Tanner Monson; sister, Janice (Jerry) Roth of Casper, WY; sister-in-law Karen Arndt of Wasilla, Alaska and a brother-in-law, Gene Linn of Gillette, WY; numerous nieces and nephews.  Marlyn was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Arndt; sister, Sharon Linn; brother, William Arndt.
