Marion was born with her twin sister on December 2, 1925 in a blizzard on the highway near McClusky on the way to the hospital with each of them weighing 2 lbs.  She was the daughter of Albert and Emma (Wahl) Lang.  Marion grew up with her four sisters in McClusky and graduated from McClusky High School in 1945.  She married Ted Heitzmann on June 9, 1946 in McClusky and they lived in Harvey.  They were married 75 years.  Marion spent most of her life helping and serving others, raising children, helping with grandchildren, and helping in the community.  If someone was sick or elderly needed company, or someone needed their hair fixed Marion was there.

Marion cooked and baked constantly the freezer was always full of pies, cakes, cookies, special K bars, homemade buns, kuchens, German dough dishes.  Marion owned a children's clothing store in downtown Harvey for several years and loved helping customers and having the product in town so people didn't have to go out of town to shop. Marion also worked at the Five and Dime Store and the Hardware Store in Harvey.  Every holiday and many weddings she spent with her sisters and their families.  Marion loved to knit.  She made sweaters for all her grandchildren.  Marion was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Harvey.

In 2018 Marion moved into the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey.  Her husband joined her shortly thereafter.  They resided there comfortably still seeing family, enjoying visits, and birthday parties.  We are so grateful for the fantastic and loving care she received at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.

Marion is survived by her husband, Ted; daughter, Sandy (James) Weinmann of Harvey; son, Marshall Heitzmann of Valley City, ND; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Marion was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Heitzmann; parents; Emma and Albert Lang; step-father, Martin Lang; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie Thiel, Morris Thiel, Jerda Mayer, Dan D.
