Marilyn Meland, 64, Hunter, ND formerly of Harvey, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at her home in Hunter of natural causes.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at Faith Lutheran Church, Harvey,

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.  Burial will be in the Bethania Lutheran Cemetery, Wellsburg, ND.

Marilyn was born on January 31, 1955 in Harvey, ND to Lyle and Lorraine (Berndt) Meland. She grew up on the family farm near Wellsburg.  She graduated from the Harvey High School in 1973 and attended Wahpeton State College. She lived in several communities in different states.  She returned to Harvey in 1995.  She worked at the National Bank of Harvey which later became known as Dakota Heritage Bank.  She moved to Hunter, ND in 2016 and continued her employment as a loan processor with Dakota Heritage Bank.

Marilyn was her daughter's greatest fan as Jessica played in high school and college sports. She traveled to many of her daughter's sporting events and never missed a game or track meet.  Marilyn enjoyed reading riding horse and vacationing with Jessica.  She was a proud grandma and loved spending time with and caring for her granddaughter, Marleigh.

Marilyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Harvey.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Jessica Meland, Valley City; granddaughter, Marleigh Meland; mother, Lorraine Meland of Harvey; brother, Fred (Nancy) Meland of Harvey; sisters, Betty Nyhus of West Fargo, Donna (Clarence) Corneliusen of Wellsburg.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Lyle Meland.
