Obituary

Marilyn Fiesel, 86, Harvey formerly of Martin, ND died Friday, November 11, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Martin Baptist Church, Martin, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Marilyn Nancy Karges was born on June 9, 1925 near Stanton, ND. She was the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Clark) Karges. She grew up and attended rural school near Stanton. Marilyn married Reinhold Fiesel on June 8, 1947 near Hazen, ND. They lived on and later purchased the Fiesel family homestead south of Martin, ND. Marilyn was baptized on August 7, 1949 at Brush Lake, ND and joined the Martin Baptist Church on October 2, 1949. Marilyn helped out with the family dairy operation and with the field work. She also raised chickens and sold eggs for many years. Reinhold died on March 19, 1998. Marilyn moved to the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey in September 2009. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and baking. Her homemade angel food cakes were enjoyed by many. She loved outdoor activities and spending time with her grandchildren. Marilyn was a current member of the Martin Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess and Sunday School teacher. She was also a past president, secretary and treasurer of the Women's Missionary Fellowship. Marilyn is survived by two sons, Marlin Fiesel of rural Martin and Darrell (Marcia) Fiesel of Harvey; seven grandchildren, Nathan Fiesel, Christy Halvorson, Carmen Fiesel, Justin Fiesel, Jason Fiesel, Daneen Fiesel, Jayme Walsh; two great-grandchildren, Becca Fiesel and James Fiesel; daughter-in-law, Colleen Fiesel of Martin. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reinhold; son, Dan; three brothers, Orrin, Willis and Erwin Karges; sister, Melva Stanley. Marilyn passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Hospital. Blessed be the memory of Marilyn Fiesel.
