Marcella Katherine Volk, 84, Bismarck, ND, formerly of Selz, ND, died Friday, November 18, 2022 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey on Wednesday, November 23 at 10:30 am.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22 from 4 p.m. with the Rosary and prayer service following at 7pm at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey

Burial will be in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery of Harvey.

Marcella, known as "Sally", was born December, 9, 1937 in Rugby, ND to Joseph and Frances (Neis) Wentz.  She was raised on the family farm near Esmond, ND.  She attended school and graduated from Esmond.  Sally married Anton (Tony) Volk November 19,1956 in Esmond at St. Boniface Catholic Church.  Together they lived and worked on the Volk family farm near Selz and raised five children.  Sally enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and bowling.  She especially enjoyed visiting with family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  After retirement Sally and Tony enjoyed traveling with their RV friends.  This RV life later led to spending 20 winters in Mesa, Arizona.

For the last six years Sally and Tony lived in Bismarck at St. Gabriels Assisted Living and Basic Care, a Benedictine Living Community.

Sally had a strong Catholic faith and she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Selz.

Sally's loving family includes: Tony, her husband of 66 years, Bismarck, ND; five children, Julie (Ronald) Bartsch, Bismarck, ND, Donna (DuWayne) Weigel, Bismarck, ND, Cheryl (Cary) Goldade, Bismarck, ND, Rick (Margaret) Volk, Hazen, ND, and Cyndy (Scott) Sondrol, Wilton, ND; 13 grandchildren, Amanda Bartsch, Brandon (Karmen) Bartsch, Chad (Randi) Leintz, Cara Leintz, Jonica Weigel, Alex (Brittany) Weigel, Crystal (Tyson) Schneider, Cassandra (Josh) Leier, Erik Volk, Alex (Anna) Volk, Kirstin (Jeremiah) Bray, Landre Sondrol and Kendal Sondrol;   great grandchildren, Wesley Leintz, Mason and Ayva Weigel, Bailey and Brooks Leintz, Ryker, Kylon, and Addie Samuelson, Brekken, Bryar, and Briggs Schneider, Brax Leier, Elias Volk, and Oliver Bray; brother, Duane "Butch" (Eva) Wentz, sister, Patty (Ray) Schneider; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sally was preceded in death by her grandsons, Chrys Leintz and Scott Weigel. her parents; sisters, Lorraine (Gerald) Toso, Helen (Lester) Ehli, and Shirley (Allen) Gange; brothers, Eugene (Betty), Wilbert "Bud" (Bella), and Jerome (Elsie) Wentz.
