Lydia Herman, 102, Garrison, ND formerly of Anamoose, ND died on Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Benedictine Living Center, Garrison. Burial will be in the spring in St. Martin's Lutheran Cemetery, Anamoose, ND.
Lydia was born on August 14, 1908 in Romania. She was the daughter of Samuel and Mathilda (Jahnke) Herman. In 1910 she emigrated with her parents to the United States and settled near Anamoose, ND. She grew up there and attended school in Anamoose. She later moved to Minneapolis where she worked in a garment factory before moving back to Anamoose. She was also a housekeeper. She entered the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison in 2003.
Lydia was especially fond of cats, dogs, and horses. When she was growing up she loved to ride horse.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert, Fred and Arthur; sister, Ida.
